Car repairs under the arches, explained properly
Car repairs at Pullman Motors
Pullman Motors carries out mechanical repairs on cars of all makes at our railway-arch workshop on Randall Road, SE11 – brakes, clutches, suspension, exhausts, batteries and warning-light diagnosis. We find the actual cause before replacing parts, give you a clear price first, and never carry out extra work without your go-ahead.
What does a garage diagnostic check involve?
A diagnostic check reads the fault codes stored by your car's computer, then a technician tests the components those codes point to. The code alone rarely tells the whole story – the testing afterwards is what separates a sensor fault from a wiring problem or a failing part.
What's included
- Brake pads, discs, callipers and fluid
- Clutch and gearbox faults
- Suspension – springs, shock absorbers, bushes and links
- Exhausts and emissions faults
- Batteries, starting and charging problems
- Engine warning lights and fault diagnosis
Prices depend on your car – send us your registration for a quote.

FAQs
Car repairs: your questions answered
My engine warning light is on – is it safe to drive?
A steady amber light usually means a fault that needs checking soon, but the car is often safe to drive gently to a garage. A flashing or red light means stop as soon as it is safe. Either way, book a diagnostic check so the fault code and its cause can be found.
How do I know if my brakes need attention?
Warning signs include squealing or grinding, a soft or long brake pedal, the car pulling to one side, a vibration through the pedal, or a brake warning light. Do not wait for the next service – book a brake check and we will measure the pads and discs and show you what we find.
Will you tell me the price before starting a repair?
Yes. We diagnose the problem, explain what is needed and give you a price before any repair work starts. If we find something else once the job is under way, we stop and call you. Nothing extra goes on the bill without your agreement.
