MOT at Pullman Motors

Pullman Motors books MOTs for cars from our workshop at Railway Arch, 115-117 Randall Rd, London SE11 5JR. Cars over three years old need an MOT every year. If anything fails, we explain each item in plain English, quote before repairing, and can usually fix it in the same workshop so you are not shuttling between garages.

What is an MOT?

An MOT is the annual test required by law for most cars over three years old in Great Britain. It checks that the car meets minimum road-safety and environmental standards on the day of the test – lights, brakes, steering, tyres, seatbelts, emissions and more. It is not a service.

What's included

  • Booking at a time that suits you, Monday to Saturday
  • Pre-MOT check of bulbs, wipers, tyres and screenwash on request
  • Every failure and advisory explained in plain English
  • Written quote before any repair work
  • Repairs carried out in our own workshop
  • Result recorded on the DVSA MOT history database

Prices depend on your car – send us your registration for a quote.

FAQs

MOT: your questions answered

When is my MOT due?

Your first MOT is due three years after the car was first registered, then every year. You can check the date free on the GOV.UK MOT history service using your registration. You can have the test up to a month minus a day early and still keep the same renewal date.

What happens if my car fails its MOT?

You get a list of dangerous, major and minor faults. A car with a dangerous fault must not be driven until it is repaired. We explain each item, give you a price, and can usually repair it here, so the retest happens quickly without moving the car to another garage.

Can I drive my car if the MOT has expired?

Only to a pre-booked MOT test or to a garage for repairs needed to pass. Otherwise you can be fined up to £1,000, and your insurance may be invalid. If yours has lapsed, call us on 020 7735 5072 and we will book the earliest slot we have.
